Customer Reviews
Always reliable for DEFA classics
I've bought from Der Ostfilm a few times now, mostly DEFA stuff. This time I picked up 'Nackt unter Wölfen' and 'Sachsens Glanz und Preußens Gloria'. The quality is always consistent, you know what you're getting. Shipping took about a week to New York, which is pretty standard for international orders. They had a 'Set-Preis Angebot' on these specific films, which was a nice bonus compared to buying them individually. It's why I keep coming back, they always have those specific films I'm looking for, and the deals are decent without being over the top.
Got my film quickly
I ordered 'Die Legende von Paul und Paula' last week and it showed up today, took 6 days to reach Dallas. The packaging was good, no damage. Just wanted to watch this movie again, brought back memories.
Good value on a bundle
This was my first time buying from here. I was looking for a good deal on 'Polizeiruf 110' DVDs and saw they had a 'Mengenrabatt' when you bought several. It knocked a decent amount off the total, which made the shipping costs feel less impactful. The DVDs arrived well-protected, and the price per disc was better than what I saw on Amazon. Felt like a solid purchase for the collection.

Share tips, ask questions & help fellow shoppers save more
Hey guys, thinking of grabbing a few DEFA classics from Der Ostfilm. How long does shipping usually take to the US, specifically California?
Do they ever have sales on the Olsenbande stuff? Really want to get the complete box set but it's a bit pricey.
Are these DVDs like, proper original stuff? Or are we talking some weird bootlegs? Just want to make sure before I order.
can you use multiple coupon codes at checkout? i have one for signing up and found another deal code.
What's their return policy like if a DVD is scratched or something? Or if I just change my mind?
